- Cake:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Buttercream Frosting Optional:
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, then vanilla.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk. Mix until combined.
Divide batter, bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool cakes.
Frost with buttercream, decorate as desired.
