Activate yeast with warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until foamy.
Mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a bowl.
Add milk, melted butter, and yeast mix; stir into a rough dough.
Knead on floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours.
Punch down, shape into loaf, and place in greased loaf pan.
Let rise again 30–45 minutes until just above the pan.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding.
Cool 10 minutes in pan, then on wire rack before slicing.
