Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted (or coconut oil for vegan option)
  • teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup warm water

Instructions
 

  • Activate yeast with warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until foamy.
  • Mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and yeast mix; stir into a rough dough.
  • Knead on floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours.
  • Punch down, shape into loaf, and place in greased loaf pan.
  • Let rise again 30–45 minutes until just above the pan.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding.
  • Cool 10 minutes in pan, then on wire rack before slicing.
